Artists are encouraged to apply for the fourth Aurora ArtWalk taking place on Sat., June 5, 2010 from 2-7pm in downtown Aurora, IL. Our last three events saw outstanding attendance with standing room only audiences bringing thousands of patrons to downtown Aurora. Our tentative venues this year include North Island Center, Comfort Zone, Ballydoyle, Hollywood Casino, La Quinta De Los Reyes and more. Applicants from a wide range of artistic practices are encouraged to apply. Open, but not limited to: dancers, photographers, painters, performers, vocalists, poets, sculptors, spoken word artists, ceramicists, authors, singer /songwriters, installation artists, independent filmmakers, environmental artists, and musicians of all genres.

Artists will be paired with a fitting downtown venue in which to exhibit or perform. We will provide a boxed lunch, assist during the event, and host the after-party for participants. All artists accepted through this juried process must be able to deliver work and attend/perform for the duration of the ArtWalk, and are eligible for cash awards. Any and all artists are encouraged to offer work for sale.

Accepted artists will be notified by April 15th and
will be contacted to arrange delivery and set up times.

The Aurora ArtWalk is produced by the Cultural Creatives, a professional group of downtown artists, patrons, and business and property owners with a common interest in encouraging an arts-friendly environment.

TO APPLY:

• Step 1 - Submit your $10 entrance fee via Paypal (see button below). All applicants will go through a jury process. A submitted application fee does not guarantee acceptance.

• Step 2 - After you checkout with Paypal, you will be redirected to a page where you can download the Artist Submission Application -- an electronic Word document that you will be asked to fill out and e-mail back to us as an attachment.

• As part of the application you will be asked: Artist name, website(s), BRIEF artist’s bio, and resume. You will also be given an opportunity to describe your work and describe your exhibit/performance requirements. You can download a sample application here (saved as a pdf document).

• Visual and performing artists will be asked to e-mail 3-5 images, (no larger than 500k each), and saved as a “jpg” files. Musicians are requested to submit an image of the artist/performers along with two audio samples (saved as "mp3" files). Poets, playwrights, and writers will be asked to submit three short poems or one long poem/writing sample of not more than 500 words. Filmmakers and other performers should submit a short clip or link to an online hosted version of their video (IE: on YouTube).

  • Please follow the appropriate guidelines (found on the last page of the application) for submitting your completed application along with samples of your work.   All applications and sample files MUST be submitted electronically. We will not be able to consider incomplete applications or applications received without an entrance fee.
